How to Drink More Water for Better Health By: lavieneko | 09th February 2010

Drinking enough water every day is the most important thing you can do to get healthy and stay that way. Just by staying hydrated your immune system will be stronger, you'll lose weight naturally, you'll have more energy, and your mental and physical health will improve. Follow these simple guidelines and you'll find that drinking all that water can be very easy!

Instructions

Step 1 Figure out how much water you should be drinking. Take your weight in pounds and divide it in half. This number is how many ounces of water you need per day (up to 100.)

Step 2 Invest in a high quality water bottle made of either BPA-free plastic (it should say so on the label), aluminum, or stainless steel. Keep it filled with clean water and with you at all times so that it's always convenient.

Step 3 Always use bottled water for teas and hot drinks. Bottled water tastes better and is better for you.

Step 4 If you don't like the taste of plain water, toss a decaf or caffeine-free tea bag in your water bottle filled with cool water. Shake it up and let it steep for five to ten minutes. Your water will taste delicious and irresistible. Decaf green tea, white tea, and herbal teas are especially good for this. Use a natural sweetener like stevia in place of sugar if needed.

Step 5 If you still have trouble drinking all that water, you can substitute up to half of your daily required ounces with clear juices with no added sweeteners or caffeine-free diet sodas.

Step 6 Drink water before you snack. Most of the time when you feel hungry between meals your body is really asking for water. Drink a glass of water before every snack and you'll get hydrated and avoid unnecessary calories.

Step 7 End your day with a soothing cup of hot decaf or caffeine-free tea (with no added sugar or milk.) Herbal teas are great for relaxing and can even help you sleep better. Green, red, and white teas are full of antioxidants which have been shown to help prevent cancer as well as many other diseases and health problems.
