Hi Everyone,
Here is a deliciously tried and tested typical Spanish recipe from one of our very own staff members, passed down the generation tree for us all to share and enjoy. This crunchy breakfast treat is found all over Spain enjoyed with a cup of hot chocolate or in our case hot chocolate dip. In our recipe we have added a little bit of a sufrati twist for extra flavor. Now you can enjoy Churros for breakfast in Saudi arabia in your home anytime.
Ingredients:
50gm Butter
250ml Water
Flour
Pinch of Salt
1 Cinnamon stick
Half tea spoon of Vanilla bean / essence
Orange Zest
100g Dark Chocolate
Double cream / heavy cream
Icing Sugar
Cooking Oil
Churros Dough Mix DIrections:
1. Melt 50g of butter in to the water in a sauce pan
2. Using a bowl mix the butter and water in to some flour with a pinch of salt until it forms a smoothe and consistent paste that is not too runny
3. Spoon the Churros dough mixture in to a piping bag or cake decorators' tube and leave to cool in the fridge for 10 minutes.
4. Begin to squeeze the Churros Dough Mix out of the piping bag into deep fryer of hot vegetable oil. (Create strips 10 to 15 cm).
5. Fry until golden brown.
6. Take out of fryer and place on to kitchen towel to remove excess oil. Lightly coat with Cinnamon powder and icing sugar if desired.
7. Place Churro strips on to a plate and enjoy by dippiing into the chocolate dip mix below.
Chocolate Dip DIrections:
1. Pour the heavy cream in to a sauce pan over a medium heat.
2. Add the Cinamon Stick, Orange zest and vanilla to the heavy cream and allow the flavors to fuse by stiring gently over medium heat for 10 minutes.
3. Strain the Heavy cream fused with the flavors and then continue to heat it while adding the dark chocolate allowing it to melt into cream stir until all chocolate has melted.
4. Pour the Chocolate dip into a small bowl and garnish with some orange zest and icing sugar, serve warm with Churros.
