Last night my wife and I decided to go back to Le Concheur Café in Jeddah and have a quick meal, and I must say it did not disappoint. This might be our new favorite place in Jeddah.
Food: I tried the Club Sandwich (39 SR) and it was delightful. The bread crunch is right, and the filling was delicious. I also command them for getting the beef bacon right, it was crispy not rubbery like other places. My wife had the Tempura Chicken Salad (44 SR) she loved it as well.
Drinks: We had two Madagascar Delight hot chocolate which was delightful (22 SR each)
Dessert: Lemon Tart for my wife, because she loved it the first time and wanted to have it again, very tangy and the sweetness is not overwhelming. I had the Banana Tart, and this one was a hit. The texture and the flavors are just amazing. Not everyone gets banana right in dessert, but I have to say even my wife who is not so keen on banana in dessert thought it was excellent (18 SR each).
Service and Hospitality: the service is very fast and friendly. For hospitality, they serve the guests some chocolate pieces, which are very great. I don’t usually like marshmallow, but the one in the filling of the chocolate is just terrific.
Ambiance: Modern and elegant, yet still casual. It was spotless clean, but I must say there are two points I think they need to work on, the AC was very cold in the restaurant, and they need to bring the temperature up a couple of degrees. The other point, which I believe will be harder to fix, is the height of the table vs. seats. Even though the leather seats are very comfortable, and the white tables are very elegant, the seat’s level is significantly below the table’s, which makes for an uncomfortable dining experience.
Bottom line: Le Concheur is a great addition to the dining scene in Jeddah, a place where I can see myself visiting frequently. Their menu is diverse, and the prices are above average but it you get your money worth. For chocolate lover this is a must visit, but even if you are not that into chocolate, the food is much better than many cafes is Jeddah.
This place brings a new fresh approach to the meaning of chocolate shop. I walked in and instantly noticed that the place was a high end luxury brand. The kitchens are fully open for you to look at the action and excitement and there are many places to sit and enjoy the view. The Baristas are also hard at work creating fresh juice cocktails and other hot drinks.
I tried their food that was simple tasty and not badly priced. However the chocolate is on another level and considering this place is a local concept I was impressed to know that the Chefs are internationally trained and very professional. I met Chef Eric who is a very cool person and He let me try the chocolates he had made earlier that day. I can't say anything except that you must try them for your self, this place knows chocolate like no other in Jeddah and it's clear when you taste the quality.
So Its thumbs up all the way for now keep it up and I will be back to have some of the other tarts and cakes they offer. Yumm.
